Our History
The Berean Community Development Corporation (BCDC) was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered at 104 Angeli Drive, Hammond, Louisiana 70401. Born out of a deep commitment to the residents of Tangipahoa Parish, BCDC was founded to address the persistent socio-economic challenges facing families, youth, seniors, and job seekers in our community.
From its earliest days, BCDC built its work on the foundation of community trust — listening to neighbors, partnering with local churches, schools, and civic leaders, and designing programs that meet people where they are. That grassroots approach has remained central to everything we do.
Today, BCDC implements comprehensive intervention and prevention programs across seven flagship initiatives, delivering essential resources, support, and opportunities to residents of all ages. Our 2026–2027 operational plan reflects years of learning and relationship-building, scaling proven programs to reach more families than ever before.
